Current Issues in Insurance Regulation 2015

Length: 3 hours 50 minutes

The 25th annual program on Current Issues in Insurance Regulation features regional and national leaders exploring topical issues of importance to the insurance industry, with opportunities for questions and interaction with the faculty.  As in prior programs, we will address up-to-the-minute, cutting edge regulatory issues affecting industry and consumers alike.  Among the likely “hot” topics for this year’s program are

•    insurance issues relating to social-media based transportation networks such as Uber;
•    emerging international issues facing global insurers and affecting transnational markets;
•    changes at the NAIC resulting from turnover in state offices in the recent elections, including some recent departures of key insurance commissioners;
•    an update from a Washington-based panel on Federal issues such as TRIA and systemic risk determinations; and
•    the always-stimulating “Commissioners’ Roundtable,” which brings together influential state insurance regulators for a panel showcasing their vantage point on recent insurance-law developments.
